Chilean wine dinner 2/25/10

Last night we had a packed house for our monthly wine dinner series with Rio Hill Wine & Gourmet. This month we featured the wines of Vina Siegel of Palmilla, Chile. We were joined by Alberto Siegel Jr. who is visiting the States to promote his wines here on the East Coast and in California. It was a treat to serve the foods of his homeland paired with his family’s wines…

First-

“Arepas con Escabeche”, Crucero Sauvignon Blanc 2009

Next-

“Cazuela de Ave”, Crucero Reserva Chardonnay 2209

Then-

“Pastel de Yuca”, Crucero Cabernet Sauvignon 2007, Crucero Carmenere 2007

Finally-

Brie de Meaux, Le Chevrot, Rosso di Langa, Campo de Mantalban, Vella Dry Jack Sonoma County, Point Reyes Blue, Quince, Figs, Pears, Walnuts,Gran Crucero Limited Edition 2006

Be sure to join us next month for our “Know Your Local Farmer Dinner” on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 6:00 pm. We will be joined by Double H, Polyface, Rag Mountain Trout, and Harvest Thyme Herb  farms for a unique and special evening of food, wine and conversation as our favorite group of farmers tell us their stories from the front lines of the local food movement. Don’t miss it…
