"October Beans" aka "Cranberry Beans"

from the very beginning of my time here at the ivy inn, i was struck by how fortunate we are in c-ville to have so many sources for locally grown, pesticide free produce; artisanal cheeses; humanely raised pastured animals; and the most amazing eggs from healthy, fertile chickens. that was 13 years ago, and since then the number of locals we purchase from has doubled, we are so lucky to be so close to such amazing foods.

we are honored to bring you the fruits of their labors from our back door, to the plate served to you in our dining room. the tail end of summer is when the local harvest hits its stride, 90% of our produce, and most of our center of the plate items (pork, chicken, trout, lamb) are from within 50 miles of here. don’t take my word on how good this stuff is, try for yourself. many of these awesome folks can be found at the c-ville farmer’s market and nellysford farmer’s market, or just check this blog from time to time, as i will introduce you to the people that make our local food chain happen… stay tuned.
